Earthrace sets round-the-world speed record using only biofuel
Posted on Jul 7 - Filed Under Yachts
Earthrace is one of the coolest looking, eco-friendly speed boats which runs entirely on bio-diesel and is 100% carbon neutral. It was built for around 1,500,000 GBP ($2,900,000), according to DailyMail

As of June 27, 2008, Earthrace is also the world-record holder of the fastest trip around the globe by a powerboat.

According to the Discovery article, it takes 165,000 liters of biodiesel to make the round-the-globe trip. That’s a lot of french fries.
