McLaren F1 GTR for sale

ReadyToFix.com listed a McLaren F1 GTR for sale. According to their website, the 1996 model of this converted race car was formerly a BMW factory sponsored Motorsport race car driven by Nelson Piquet. It is one of the four McLaren F1 GTR’s converted to be operated on the street. For your reference, chassis number is 16R. Price is not listed, the vendor is accepting offers.

According to SuperCars.net, McLaren stopped production after seven prototypes, including 64 road cars, 5 special F1 LMs , three F1 GTs and 28 F1 GTR road cars. This car is supposed to be one of the 28 GTRs made and one of the 4 which was converted to be road legal.

Found on JamesList and listed by Turbo-Car-Trade, a 1994 McLaren F1 is for sale for €2,000,000. The car had one owner, supposed to be in excellent condition with only 6338 mi. We wrote about previous McLaren sales and the special edition McLaren LM FM which was promised to Hamilton prior to wining the last year F1 competition. If anybody has information about whether he has actually got the car, please do share.

After its record-breaking McLaren F1 auction in London, RM Auctions is preparing for another big one in Arizona, this time presenting mostly classic cars. The Automobiles of Arizona auction will take place on January 16 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. Among the featured lots are a 1937 Bugatti 57SC Atalante, 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Roadster, 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Berlinetta, 1937 Delage D8-120 Aerosport Coupe to name a few.

The McLaren F1 auction sets record with the £2,530,000 (~$4,194,234) hammer price

Other high value sales at the same event include:

1965 Ferrari 250 LM Berlinetta – £2,255,000 (~$3,738,339)

1959 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France – £2,255,000 (~$3,738,339)

1938 Bugatti Type 57C Atalante – £660,000 (~$1,094,148)

Both Sotheby’s and RM Auctions removed the auction details from their websites. I assume only for the time being until they record the results. Once we have confirmed information from either of them, we’ll update this post.

A 1997 McLaren F1 will be listed for sale during the “Automobiles of London” auction by RM Auctions on October 29. The 627 bhp F1 had held the record of the fastest production car for over a decade with the top speed of  243 miles per hour (391 km per hour). This 1997 McLaren has a pre-auction estimate price of 1,100,000 GBP-1,400,000 GBP ($1,971,310 – $2,508,940)
