A month ago, we wrote about the upcoming McLaren F1 auction to be held on Oct 29 by RM Auctions in association with Sotheby’s. Partial, unconfirmed results are in through Ultimatecarpage.com

The McLaren F1 auction sets record with the £2,530,000 (~$4,194,234) hammer price

Other high value sales at the same event include:

1965 Ferrari 250 LM Berlinetta – £2,255,000 (~$3,738,339)

1959 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France – £2,255,000 (~$3,738,339)

1938 Bugatti Type 57C Atalante – £660,000 (~$1,094,148)

Both Sotheby’s and RM Auctions removed the auction details from their websites. I assume only for the time being until they record the results. Once we have confirmed information from either of them, we’ll update this post.

Lamborghini Las Vegas listed a 2005 Maserati Roadster MC12 on eBay. Currently it is tracking at $1.3M with reserve price not yet met. We previously wrote about a recent sale in 2006 of a year 2004 MC12 model, which went for little over $1M. There were only 50 built of this car in 2004 and 2005. According to the auction description: “Maserati only produced 25 vehicles in 2004, all of which, to our understanding, were used for track purposes only, and 25 vehicles were then produced in 2005 for personal sale and use. Only 7 to our findings have been federalized for the United States.”

A 1997 McLaren F1 will be listed for sale during the “Automobiles of London” auction by RM Auctions on October 29. The 627 bhp F1 had held the record of the fastest production car for over a decade with the top speed of  243 miles per hour (391 km per hour). This 1997 McLaren has a pre-auction estimate price of 1,100,000 GBP-1,400,000 GBP ($1,971,310 – $2,508,940)

Follow the auction on the RM Auctions site

Other noteable cars to be sold at the same event are the 1963 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder (estimate 2,500,000 GBP-2,800,000 GBP)  and the 1965 Ferrari 250 LM Berlinetta (estimate 2,500,000 GBP-2,800,000 GBP)

Maserati MC12 Coupe

One of 50 built in 2004 and 2005. The first example imported into U.S. Built on an Enzo Ferrari platform. List price of $799,000. Naturally asperated, paddle shifter, carbon fiber body. In as-new condition with little sign of use.

Top end speed of 205 mph. Zero to 60 in 3.8 seconds. MC12Rs have won two of three FIA GT Championship races. If you want a street legal race car, this is it. More rare than an Enzo, but not legal in California—so you don’t have to worry about letting a guy named Dietrich drive it and wreck it.

Pristine Ferrari F40 Sold

There are many ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunities, and Silicon Valley Auto Group has just sold one of these this past Wednesday. A 1992 Ferrari F40 Supercar in Rosso Corsa with Rosso interior. This excellent example had 158 miles, one owner, all major services, documents, and kept in a time bubble for practically its entire existence.

\

A bit more about this Ferrari F40: The F40 was the last car introduced and commissioned by Enzo Ferrari himself. Its introduction and its name coincided with Ferrari’s 40th anniversary as an automobile constructor. The car was a celebration of the marque and man seeking to safely provide owners with a racecar for the street, embodying all the finest elements of modern automotive engineering. The F40’s body is comprised almost entirely of composite materials, mostly a weave of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and Nomex. The car was available in one color – Rosso Corsa – and the composite body panels were left unfinished in many areas, such as inside the doors, the cabin floor, and the door sills. Through effective design, Pininfarina ensured the F40’s body was made of only 11 main panels. The main chassis is made from the oval-section tubular steel common to Ferrari cars of the time. The F40’s heart was its engine, a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged alloy V8 producing an astonishing 478 bhp at 7000 (163 bhp/liter) rpm and 424 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. This amazing power plant consists of: dual overhead cams controlling four valves per cylinder, a dry sump lubrication system, separate electronic ignition and fuel injection systems for each bank of cylinders, and a Weber-Marelli engine control system. The F40 rockets from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds en route to a top speed of 201 mph. From a standing start the F40 can cover a 1/4 mile in 11.7 seconds @ 127 mph.

Silicon Valley Auto Group was asking a smooth $795,000 for this exquisite vehicle.

Saleen S7R

One of the 15 S7R Saleen race cars produced is for sale on eBay. Bid starts at $1,000,000 or one can pick it up for $1,500,000 right away.

Here is an S7R in action. I am not sure whether it’s the same car, but it looks identical:

The road legal version of the car, the S7 is equally impressive. With its 750 bhp engine, it is one of the strongest car one can get at the mid-6 figure price range.

See the auction description on eBay for more technical spec.
