Mass Lottery Players Win Big in Powerball Drawing
There were two Powerball winners from Massachusetts who won $1 million jackpots the same day as Mavis Wanczyk. With all the attention on the big winner from Chicopee it is unlikely you heard much about these other players.
Rosanne Grady and Elsie Beckford won $1 million each by matching five numbers in the historic drawing. Grady, a resident from Watertown, bought her winning ticket in town at Handy Variety. This is the store that was mistakenly reported by lottery officials as the store that sold the $759 million ticket.
Both winners chose their own numbers, as experts and previous winners advise players to do. Campbell and Grady are estimated to take home $700,000 after taxes.
